march update

i'm so bad at blogging.  it's been almost a month.  it's been a craaaazy month.  

my birthday came & went.  i turned 26 on february 28.  i can't believe i'll be 30 soon.  makes me a little sad.  my daddy sent me some beautiful flowers.  when i came home from work & picking fox up from school, we found the house full of balloons & birthday banners.  brandon bought a King Cake for my bday (i haven't had one in years; i'm from Louisiana).  we went to eat at this Latin restaurant that serves this soup that my Mom used to cook & it was my favorite.  so it was a nice birthday spent with my 2 loves.

fox was sick for like 3 weeks.  he's finally feeling much better & i hope it stays that way!!  one night, he coughed ALL.NIGHT.LONG. literally.  i woke him up to get him ready for school & gave him some cough medicine & sent him off.  by late morning, daycare called & said he had a fever.  i brought him home.  and when brandon came home for lunch, fox started having these febrile seizures.  his fever had spiked so quickly.  we took him to the ER & they said pneumonia was setting in.  they gave him an antibiotic shot & sent us home with more antibiotics.  so he got better.  i sent him back to daycare for 1 day.  and the next day, brandon took him to school & before i left the house for work, they said his fever was back.  and the fever stuck around for 6 days.  he was put on another antibiotic because he had already finished the first round.  2nd antibiotic finished & fever broke on a sunday night.  we decided to keep him that monday for school just to be sure he was fever free for 24 hours.  on monday & tuesday, his right ear started draining... took him back to the doctor & he had an ear infection!  so we're finishing antibiotic #3 & is on medicated ear drops.  he is feeling much better.  and i'm praying that with Spring here, sickness will be gone for a long time.  it was a very exhausting few weeks.  during the first week, brandon & i were both feeling pretty cruddy too.  glad we're all on the mend, in Jesus' name!

fox & i had a lot of cuddle time & took lots of naps.. and he smothered me with kisses & i smothered him back.  he is just so sweet.. even when he is sick.   i missed a lot of days at work, but honestly, it felt great to be at home with my baby.  i miss being a SAHM... and i'm praying that i'll get to be one again once the new baby arrives.

with some of my birthday money, i bought myself a Kindle.  and i've been doing a lot of reading.  well, i'm still on my first book, Little Women.  it's a looooong book.  of course, i would break in my new Kindle with reading my most favorite book... and i enjoy it every time i read it!

i went to church yesterday for the first time in almost a month.  it felt so great to see my church family... and just to be back in the house of God.  i was in the nursery & especially enjoyed loving on our precious babies.  i was able to get out of the house a few times to get away when fox was sick.  my craft group/life group meets every other week & i got to teach the class how to make the rolled fabric flowers.. and we made headbands & hair clips.  they are so cute!  i need to make a little more time for crafts & make myself a bunch of headbands or clips to match everything!  

well, i guess this is a nice little update.  i'll try to write more since things have kinda settled.  and i want to write more about my pregnancy... try to do weekly/bi-weekly posts with hopefully some baby bump pictures.
