How far along: 

15 weeks

Size of baby: 

about 4 inches long,

size of an apple

Maternity clothes: 

still haven't sported any maternity clothes, yet. can still fit in my jeans & shirts, but i was planning on getting them out this weekend, just so i'll have a different wardrobe & my Springy clothes.

Gender: 

still don't know.  i'm guessing i won't find out until i'm 20 wks, which will not be until the middle of may.

Movement: 

i think i've felt the baby move a few times.  not sure.  i hate this stage in pregnancy when you have to go weeks without an ultrasound to know baby is okay & don't really feel any kicks, you know?  i know i'm not miscarrying, obviously, but just that ultimate peace of mind.

Sleep: 

sleep has been pretty good.  i take naps whenever i can or whenever fox allows it.  ha! saturday, we all took an almost 4 hours nap.  it was wonderful!

What I miss: 

not feeling yucky.. and being able to eat whatever i want.

Cravings: 

nothing really, but i've been eating a lot of pickles...oh!  and just plain rice & beans.  weird, i know.  but i've just been wanting that a few times a week.  haha!

Aversions:  

mexican food..well, at least their ground beef.

Symptoms: 

i still hate throwing up.  and that's really all the symptoms i have.. with an occasional headache.

Best moment this week: 

well, so far this week.. i love when fox pats my belly & says "baby".  and my hubby went grocery shopping for me last night & brought back these treats...

oh!!  and last week, brandon & i finally picked out & agreed on our baby names for either a boy or a girl!  yay!!  so glad that is out of the way!!  yaaaaaaay!

my brother made it back safely from afghanistan!!  wooooohooo!  and praise God!!

my brother was away since mid August & just returned this past Sunday.  i was unable to make it to his unit's homecoming & i am so looking forward to going to Louisiana in a few weeks for when he does come home for a few weeks!!  i can't wait to hug him & let fox play with his uncle!

i'm so glad i can now rest & sleep easy.. and have a more peaceful mind.  but most of all, I am so grateful for God hearing all our prayers & cries by bringing him & his unit back home to us.  and i am so grateful for the love & support of so many family members, friends, and churches that sent care packages to him & his friends... and sent up prayers, as well!

oops! a day late!

 i was soooooo busy yesterday, i didn't have time to do my wee bit wednesday!  so it's a day late!  {one} if you won a trip to Disneyland/world, who would you take with you?i would definitely take brandon & my boy.. but i'd also love to take my nephews (& their parents, of course, so i'm not babysitting 4 rowdy boys).. oh what the heck!?  i'd take my whole family, dad & the brothers, too.  make it a family affair!  {two} when was the last time you listened to a CD?well, we currently have a yo gabba gabba cd in the car for moments when fox gets restless & freaks out.  it usually calms him down!  {three} what spice/seasoning is your favorite?salt... and tony's!  {four} if you were in a band, what kind of music would you play?probably something like norah jones.. soulful.. sara bareilles.  {five} if you could have personally witnessed one historical event, which one would it be?i would have loved to have been to princess diana's wedding... or been there the day Jesus was born.  {six} if you could go back to school, what would you study?physical therapy.  {seven} if you could go to one sporting event, all expenses paid, which one would you see?the world cup!    {eight} do you drive an automatic or a manual?automatic  {nine} are you comfortable speaking in front of people?nope, don't like it at all.  {ten} have you ever experienced an earthquake?no & i pray & hope i never do... i would FREAK out!

Pregnancy Highlights

How far along: 

13 weeks

Size of baby: 

about 3 inches long

Maternity clothes: 

i haven't broken out my maternity clothes stash, yet.  luckily, i can still button my jeans & dress pants

Gender: 

won't know for another month or 2.  i would love for it to be a girl.. since i'm the only girl out of 5 kids & mom died.. so i'm really the only girl (via blood) & there are 4 grandsons.. with another grandson due in june.  we need a little princess!  but my desire to have a healthy baby outweighs the desire to have a girl, especially after having those health scares with fox.

Movement: 

baby is alive & moving inside!  with a healthy heartbeat!  there have been a few times where i thought i might have felt something.. but think it may still be early.  but i have heard that during your 2nd pregnancy, you can feel them move a lot sooner. 

Sleep: 

it takes me FOREVER to fall asleep.  and i toss & turn a lot.  but can luckily still sleep on my tummy!  ;-)

What I miss: 

well, i finally weaned fox from nursing.. after 19+ months.  i miss that bond & time between us.  but he is definitely still a momma's boy.  and he loves to lay on me & give me sugars.  so i love that!

Cravings: 

nothing really

Aversions:  

mexican food

Symptoms: 

i hate throwing up.  i don't really have nausea, but just throw up on a whim.  hope that now i'm into my 2nd trimester i won't be throwing up.

Best moment this week: 

well, last week, i had an appt & got to listen to the baby's heartbeat!  and i had finally lost those last few pesky pounds of pregnancy weight with fox.  who knew that all i had to do in order to lose that baby weight was get pregnant again & throw up a lot!  ha!  and i've started working out again!

 

wee bit wednesday

{one} what was your first job?was a speech therapy tech at a pediatric physical therapy (occupational & speech) clinic.  loved my job!  {two} have you ever seen a stand up comedian?no  {three} when was the last time you played mini golf?it's probably been 4+ years.. before i got married at least, i think.  {four} what was the last picture you took?these two...

and while we were outside, he picked me a flower.  love him!

{six} if you have a pocket full of change, what do you do with it?put it in my purse.. but i've been trying to put loose change in fox's piggy banks.  {seven} can you touch your tongue to your nose?nope.  {eight} do you scrapbook?hahahaha... no.  i was going to do it once.. and never did anything with my book & stickers.  :(  {nine} do you buy lottery tickets?no, i need to!    {ten} do you prefer to be in front of the camera or behind it?behind it.

Spring is here!

we are so enjoying this weather... and loving that Spring is finally here.  i am excited about spending more time outside.. and more trips to the park.. and more drives around town with our windows rolled down, drinking mocha frapps or ice cream cones! 

this past week, fox & i met with my friend, rachel, & her daughter, adalie, for dinner & took the kiddos to play at the park.  we just let them roam around, blow bubbles & let them swing.  it was such a great time.

sunday evening, brandon, fox & i spent a good bit outside.  fox is so into "birdies" right now.  he loves watching the birds fly in the sky & goes crazy when he sees them!  he just loves it.  he asks to go outside all the time.. and throws a major fit when it's time to come inside.  so i see us spending a lot of time outside.  and this makes me happy because i think we are spending too much time in front of the tv.  and i am tired of watching Disney or Nick, Jr. all the time!  heehee!!

so hip, hip, hooray for Spring!!  and warmer weather!!  and new Spring/summer clothes for fox!! 

march update

i'm so bad at blogging.  it's been almost a month.  it's been a craaaazy month.  

my birthday came & went.  i turned 26 on february 28.  i can't believe i'll be 30 soon.  makes me a little sad.  my daddy sent me some beautiful flowers.  when i came home from work & picking fox up from school, we found the house full of balloons & birthday banners.  brandon bought a King Cake for my bday (i haven't had one in years; i'm from Louisiana).  we went to eat at this Latin restaurant that serves this soup that my Mom used to cook & it was my favorite.  so it was a nice birthday spent with my 2 loves.

fox was sick for like 3 weeks.  he's finally feeling much better & i hope it stays that way!!  one night, he coughed ALL.NIGHT.LONG. literally.  i woke him up to get him ready for school & gave him some cough medicine & sent him off.  by late morning, daycare called & said he had a fever.  i brought him home.  and when brandon came home for lunch, fox started having these febrile seizures.  his fever had spiked so quickly.  we took him to the ER & they said pneumonia was setting in.  they gave him an antibiotic shot & sent us home with more antibiotics.  so he got better.  i sent him back to daycare for 1 day.  and the next day, brandon took him to school & before i left the house for work, they said his fever was back.  and the fever stuck around for 6 days.  he was put on another antibiotic because he had already finished the first round.  2nd antibiotic finished & fever broke on a sunday night.  we decided to keep him that monday for school just to be sure he was fever free for 24 hours.  on monday & tuesday, his right ear started draining... took him back to the doctor & he had an ear infection!  so we're finishing antibiotic #3 & is on medicated ear drops.  he is feeling much better.  and i'm praying that with Spring here, sickness will be gone for a long time.  it was a very exhausting few weeks.  during the first week, brandon & i were both feeling pretty cruddy too.  glad we're all on the mend, in Jesus' name!

fox & i had a lot of cuddle time & took lots of naps.. and he smothered me with kisses & i smothered him back.  he is just so sweet.. even when he is sick.   i missed a lot of days at work, but honestly, it felt great to be at home with my baby.  i miss being a SAHM... and i'm praying that i'll get to be one again once the new baby arrives.

with some of my birthday money, i bought myself a Kindle.  and i've been doing a lot of reading.  well, i'm still on my first book, Little Women.  it's a looooong book.  of course, i would break in my new Kindle with reading my most favorite book... and i enjoy it every time i read it!

i went to church yesterday for the first time in almost a month.  it felt so great to see my church family... and just to be back in the house of God.  i was in the nursery & especially enjoyed loving on our precious babies.  i was able to get out of the house a few times to get away when fox was sick.  my craft group/life group meets every other week & i got to teach the class how to make the rolled fabric flowers.. and we made headbands & hair clips.  they are so cute!  i need to make a little more time for crafts & make myself a bunch of headbands or clips to match everything!  

well, i guess this is a nice little update.  i'll try to write more since things have kinda settled.  and i want to write more about my pregnancy... try to do weekly/bi-weekly posts with hopefully some baby bump pictures.
