the men in my life.

i have these amazing guys in my life.

well, the most important man in my life is my husband, of course. he's just a pretty swell guy. :) i love him to pieces. he spoils me & is stern with me. we have great fun together. most importantly, he is a man of God. he's soo soo talented & charming. we'll have a little spat & 5 minutes later, we're lovey dovey. i hope it stays like that forever. he has the cutest dimples & smile that would make anyone melt. but i hope no one else melts. he's mine. :) he's a good listener. he encourages me when i get down. he's everything i've dreamt to have in a husband. i know he is truly God-sent. God made him just for me.

my nephews. wow. have you seen any boys cuter? i have not, i daresay. Preston is my little man, my lovebug, my toot-toot. i love him as if he were my own. i'm so scared to have a little boy of my own because i love preston so much. after my mom died & before i got married, i spent so much time with him. he became my own. now, i have a new nephew. his name is maddox lee & he is so adorable. i am going to louisiana next week to meet him. i'll tell you what, i am sooo ready to see him & hold him & kiss him!! i already love him like crazy. before he was born, i told my brother & sis that i didn't know how i would feel having a new nephew. just because i love preston & i didn't know if i could love someone else. but that was just craziness. i love maddox, too!! haha!! i'm gonna go crazy whenever i see them. they are my little men.

on to the next guy, my dad. i have to say i have been blessed with a pretty cool dad. being the only girl, i was/am spoiled rotten. i am daddy's little princess or 'princessa' or 'princesita'. i think my brothers hated me growing up because we would pretend they were my slaves/soldiers & i would say 'hey, i'm thirsty. be a good slave/soldier & get me something to drink'. they would look at me like i was an idiot. but daddy would always say 'do as she said'. haha!! those were the good ole days. not only have i been blessed with a godly husband but also with a godly father. there were times that i would go against what dad said, but in the end dad was always right. he has pretty great discernment. i love my daddy. we've hit rough patches throughout our lives. but we get through them. he's a pretty cool guy. he's given us a better life because he didn't have such a good life growing up. he works/worked so hard to provide. i'm so thankful of everything he has done for me.

my older brothers. i have some crazy cool brothers. i have 4 brothers; 2 older & 2 younger. alex, the oldest. we never really got along growing up, except when he was not living at home. when my mom passed away, he became one of my best friends. he's such a great older brother. we still butt heads from time to time. he's smart & funny. he's serious. he's el chanchito. haha!! alex made me rich growing up. i always did his homework which in turn made me advanced in classes. one of my greatest memories of him is always sitting in my mom's lap. she loved it. you could barely see her underneath him. haha!! lester, the second oldest. he's always been so nice to me. alex was much more stern with me, lester was opposite. lester is the one that would jump in the bed with you when you were sleeping & fart or burp in your face. gross!! i know!! when i was a freshmen in highschool, lester was a junior & alex a senior. i would walk through the halls & see alex with his friends & i would be like 'hey alex' & he would just nod. when i would see lester through the halls, he would come up to me & give me a knuckle sandwich. haha!!

my younger brothers. axel, the second youngest. everybody knows axel. i would go through mcdonald's drive thru & the girls there would be like 'you axel's sista?'. yes, i'm axel's sista. the girls would say 'ooo, he so fine.' haha!! he is a little cutie. :) with some crazy afro hair. wow. we always fought growing up. but now i feel like he's one of my babies. i love him to death. he's really cool & very talented as well. he's very random & spontaneous. sometimes i wish i could be a little more like him. he has such a good heart. i miss him. aaron, he's the baby of the family. he's such a good bubba hubba. aaron was the only one born in the US. we did not have a lot growing up. aaron started eating mcdonald's when he could start eating solids. haha!! we were so tired of rice & beans, we would use aaron as bait to get our parents to take us to mcdonald's. we would say 'aaron, you'll be our best bubba hubba forever & ever if you get mom & dad to take us to mcdonald's.' haha!! we were so bad. aaron had a little speech problem. so it was so cute when he would talk so of course mom & dad would give in. haha!! i think mom & dad didn't see a lot of aaron & axel's report cards growing up because i had mastered my parents' signatures & would sign them so they would not get in trouble. those were the days.

i have been quite blessed with some pretty awesome & cool men in my life. i wouldn't trade them for anything in this world. i love them so so very much.

friends, amigos, compadres

i've realized how hard it can be to make/have/keep friends. i moved from louisiana & had a great group of friends there. things happened.. a move happened.. things that cause a strain on friendships. i've been burned by friends. i burned them. we can all be idiots at times.

people who i really considered my best friends. we no longer speak. i've tried to keep it going. but i felt that if the other person doesn't try or seem interested in what's going on in your life. or from time to time just say hello. why keep holding on? why keep waiting?

so i've let go. i wish them all the best in their life. i pray for them. love them from a distance.

i let go. and i tried to go back. and i've let go again. ha! life goes on with or without some of them.

i realized i had a problem. i was yearning for those peoples' friendships. i wanted to hold on. on to people that are miles away. people who really don't seem interested in what's going on in your life. otherwise, they would write you or call you. and i was not trying to make friends here. i was not allowing myself to open up to the possibility of "hey, you can have friends here too!"

after many prayers, God has helped me move on. He's healed some of the hurts I've felt. And through this healing & letting go process, God has brought new people, new friends into my life. He did not just bring new people into my life, but He has helped me strengthen friendships with people that were already around me.

God has truly blessed me with such wonderful friends out here. Friends that will call you over for dinner when your husband is out of town. Friends that will take you & other girls to go get a manicure/pedicure. Friends that will go camping with you or go watch a late movie with you. Friends that will let you love on their babies. Friends that we can laugh with & cry with for hours in our driveway.

Don't get me wrong. I still have great friends back home. Friends that still keep in touch with you. I've even become better friends with a few girls that we were not such great friends before I got married. Through the move to Albuquerque, I've been able to realize who are true friends & who are not.

I just want to give God the thanks for sending me friends at a time when I was really needing them. And thank God for my long distance friendships. I just pray that they continue to thrive & grow.

and even if I don't tell some of you girls, I really do value & treasure our friendships. :)

first blog.

okay. so here's my first go at this thing.

reason for this blog: none. boredom. procrastinating. laziness.

i have another blog page. well, a xanga. i keep receiving these emails. "THE XANGA TEAM MISSES YOU". so i'm like okay, whatever. xanga feels too junior high-ish... even though, i got it in high school.. or college. it's been too long.

but now i'm married. and graduated. on to bigger & better things.

i don't even know if this is something better. i have no clue.

but i was bored... at work. yes, i have work to do. am i doing it? no. i'm here posting a blog.

it's just one of those days, you know? there's work to do.. and it just keeps piling on, but you're just not into it. that's me. today. and a little yesterday. will i be like this tomorrow? maybe.

i love my work. i do. just not into it today.

about me:
i'm married. yes, i will start off with that. i'm married & i love my husband. our one year anniversary is fast approaching. it's quite exciting. he's an amazing guy.

i live in new mexico now. moved here from the great state of louisiana. ha! actually, louisiana has it's perks. for instance, my family's still there. my great friends are still there. i miss my nephew.

i work for a local hospital. i love working in health care. i love knowing that i can have such a small part in a person's life & rehabilitation.

i have a great church. that's why i'm here... in new mexico. my husband & a team of people came here to new mexico to start a new church. we have some pretty cool people going to our church.

well, i supposed i will get back to work. before i get stressed out that there is so much to do. yes, i'm one of those people. i put things off. to the point that i stress myself out. go crazy that i have so much to do. and then i do it all. why can't i just do my work at a constant pace? and not stress out. i keep asking myself that. it's one of my flaws.

i think i might update on xanga. i've left some things un-answered.
